While corporate may have social media channels they use for national (or international) marketing campaigns, it is important for franchisees to be socially present on a local level. Social media can be used to establish community awareness, attract customers and promote special offers – all with minimal effort and for free.

1. Be Exclusive

A good incentive for gaining followers and increasing engagement is to have offers available through social media to those who follow you or help promote your profile using Facebook “likes,” Twitter “retweets” and Instagram “follows.” Start by posting about it on your various social media profiles or posting signage if you have a brick-and-mortar storefront, giving short, clear instructions on how to “win.”

2. Use Multimedia

3. Get Involved in the Community

Sponsoring events, partnering with businesses for promotions and engaging with other business owners and local users on social media put a face to your franchise and allow you to connect on a personal level.
